About Matt:

I'm a director/producer/screenwriter living in Hollywood, CA USA. I've got numerous projects in various stages of development, all of which are sure to explode onto the scene, launching me into superstardom. (And I'm twittering now: http://twitter.com/TheMattLeonard)

About Matt's time in Hollywood:

I created Bang Bang Gameshow!, a web/mobile game show you can watch on the web or your flash-enabled phone - it's short and fast.

I directed, co-wrote, and produced "Burn on the Bayou," a documentary about a group of people who spent 7 months in Mississippi doing relief work after Hurricane Katrina. (IMDB page)
It played on The Documentary Channel for a year and was the "Main Feature" on their homepage for most of September 2009. It'll begin airing again on the Doc Channel October 2010.
They did a review and synopsis and an interview of me.
And it won the Audience Choice Award for Best Documentary at the Show Me Social Justice International Film Festival 2010 in Missouri - great festival and a great time!

One of my feature film scripts was a finalist in the 2009 Shriekfest screenplay competition.

I wrote and directed a short film, "It's On!" (view on YouTube), which was an official selection in the Talent Circle Super Shorts Film Festival in London and at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival. (If you watch it, his legs are hairy and that's a bank at the end - small and lo-res ain't the best way to watch it.)

I'm "Matt Leonard (IV)" on IMDB.

I directed a few short one-act plays (sketch comedy, really) at ACME Theatre Company for the Day Players program - the plays are written, randomly assigned directors and actors, rehearsed and performed in a 24-hour period. Fun stuff.

Erin Lee Adamson performed my monologue "Beauty" in a monologue contest in LA and won her round of competition and the audience prize in the finals! Cool!

About Matt's time as a programmer:

I used to be a computer programmer and you can see my computer resume in the "old site" section of this site. I almost never do that kind of thing for money anymore - only for friends (or LOTS AND LOTS of money.)

About this site:

This simple site was launched June, 2004. It was mostly developed on "free" software (Vim, The Gimp) running on Linux.

It uses CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) for layout and presentation - no tables. If it looks all wonky, you're most likely running an old or standards-noncompliant browser (like, maybe, IE - Internet Explorer.)

About other things:

I recommend the Firefox web browser for browsing the web. It's an excellent, free cross-platform browser.
